Kangen Water Machine
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
What is Kangen Water®? Kangen Water® is electrolyzed, ionized, and pH-adjustable water produced by Enagic machines. It’s designed to support hydration, detoxification, and overall wellness.
Is Kangen Water safe to drink every day? Yes! The neutral and alkaline levels (pH 8.5–9.5) are safe for daily use. Start at 8.5 and increase gradually to 9.5 as your body adapts.
Can children drink Kangen Water? Yes. Children can start with 8.5 pH in small amounts. For infants, use Clean Water (pH 7.0) especially for formula. Always consult a pediatrician.
How does Kangen Water help with hydration? It’s micro-clustered, which allows for faster and more efficient cellular absorption compared to tap or bottled water.
Can Kangen Water help with detox? Many users report better energy, clearer skin, and improved digestion. These are often signs of the body rehydrating and gently detoxing.
Is there proof Kangen Water improves health? While thousands report personal benefits, Enagic does not claim medical cures. But science confirms hydration supports nearly every function in the body.

Can Kangen Water replace medications or treatment? No. It may support your health, but it does not replace medical advice or prescriptions. Always consult your physician.
Why do I feel different after switching to Kangen Water? Some feel energized or temporarily detox (headaches, more urination). These are common as your body adjusts.
Is alkaline water the same as Kangen Water? No. Bottled alkaline water is often chemically altered. Kangen Water is naturally produced through electrolysis, rich in antioxidants and active hydrogen.
Can I use Kangen Water for cooking or washing produce? Yes! Use 11.5 pH Strong Kangen Water to remove oil-based pesticides and 2.5 pH Acidic Water for disinfecting.
Won’t my stomach just neutralize alkaline water? Not always. The stomach only releases acid when food or stretching is detected. Water—like alcohol—is absorbed directly through the stomach lining without triggering acid release, especially when the stomach is empty. This allows alkaline water to be quickly absorbed and circulated.

What to Expect When You Start
Drinking Kangen Water

When you start drinking Kangen Water, you may experience some new feelings or symptoms as your body adjusts to this type of water. Keep in mind that these experiences can vary from person to person, and some individuals may not notice any significant changes.

Here are some potential feelings or symptoms you might encounter:

✅ Increased Hydration: You may feel more hydrated. Kangen Water's unique structure allows for better absorption into your cells.

Energy Boost: Some individuals report feeling more energetic after drinking Kangen Water. Improved hydration can lead to increased vitality.

Detoxification: Kangen Water’s antioxidant properties may support your body’s natural detox processes. Some people may experience temporary symptoms such as increased urination, mild headaches, or changes in bowel movements. In rare cases, individuals may notice detox-like reactions such as mild constipation instead of loose stools. These are usually short-lived and a sign that the body is adjusting and eliminating accumulated waste.  Just keep on drinking, hydration is key to supporting this transition.

Balanced Digestion: Kangen Water's alkaline nature might help balance your body's pH levels, potentially leading to improved digestion and reduced acid reflux symptoms.

Adjustment Period: Some users may experience an adjustment period as their bodies adapt to the changes in water quality. This can include temporary changes in bowel movements, as Kangen Water may have a mild laxative effect on some individuals.

Improved Skin: Kangen Water's hydration benefits may lead to improved skin health for some users, but it can take time to see noticeable changes.

Mood and Mental Clarity: Proper hydration is linked to mood and cognitive function. Some people report feeling more mentally alert and focused when adequately hydrated with Kangen Water.

Weird or Different Taste: Some people notice that Kangen Water tastes “strange,” “flat,” or “metallic” when they first switch. This is completely normal. The reason is twofold:

  1. Taste Bud Adjustment – Your palate is likely used to treated or purified water (like bottled RO or distilled water) which is often devoid of minerals and taste. Kangen Water, on the other hand, retains natural minerals and carries molecular hydrogen, giving it a slightly different mouthfeel or taste.
  2. Sensory Sensitivity – As your body begins to rehydrate and detox, your taste sensitivity may heighten, making the water taste “different” initially.

📌 Don’t worry, your taste buds will adjust in just a few days. Many users eventually find Kangen Water to be smoother and more refreshing than any other water. Just keep drinking, and your body will recalibrate to the richness and realness of mineralized, structured water.

Milder Taste: Many people find Kangen Water to have a smoother and milder taste compared to tap water. This can make it more enjoyable to drink, encouraging better hydration habits.

Are there any side effects?

If there would be any, it's essential to note that any new symptoms or feelings should be temporary and not cause for concern. If you experience any unusual or prolonged symptoms, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying health issues.

How Much Kangen Water Should I Drink?

The general rule of thumb is: drink half your body weight (in pounds) in ounces of water per day.

For example, if you weigh 140 lbs, aim for 70 ounces of Kangen Water daily (about 2 liters). The more you drink, the better your body can hydrate, flush out toxins, and function optimally.

☝️ However, there are important exceptions:
If you have chronic kidney disease (especially in stages 3–5) or congestive heart failure, your fluid intake may need to be limited. These conditions impair the body’s ability to process excess fluids, and drinking too much can lead to complications like fluid overload or edema.

📌 Always consult your physician or healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions that affect hydration or fluid balance.

What’s the Difference Between Store-Bought
Alkaline Water and Kangen Water?

That’s a great question—and the difference is big.

Most alkaline waters in stores are chemically altered. They often add ingredients like sodium bicarbonate or magnesium sulfate to purified water to raise the pH artificially. Some use alkaline drops or tablets.

Kangen Water is different. It’s made through electrolysis, a natural process that separates water into alkaline and acidic streams using electricity, not chemicals. No additives, just restructured, antioxidant-rich water.

Because Kangen Water is naturally alkalized (not chemically), it’s safer for long-term use, better absorbed by the body, and helps fight oxidative stress without risking over-alkalinity.

📌Also note: Strong Kangen Water (11.5 pH) is not for drinking. It’s for cleaning produce, removing oil-based pesticides naturally and without chemicals.
